BREAKING NEWS is an animation grounded in 2026. That is, it's an animation exploring what it is to be constantly bombarded with horror stories every hour of every day. It's an exploration of tensions – to look, and bear witness to the way that the world around me seems like it's being destroyed? or to turn away, and pretend like I don't see? – and attrition. What does it mean, when the slow but consistent crumbling of society and government, compassion and empathy, become part of the everyday?
