We're bored, you're bored, celebrities are going stir-crazy in social isolation - we get it! The coronavirus has forced states and cities across the nation to "shelter in place" or take "pause" forcing us to social distance in our homes until it passes - a sure-fire recipe for the cabin fever.


We have compiled a list of FREE things to do from free streaming apps to virtual tours of museums, to free concerts, to virtual dinner parties and Nextflix parties We've got you covered! There's even free things to keep the youngins busy.


MOVIES & TV


Netflix Party lets friends have movie nights while social distancing. To set it up, add the Netflix Party extension from the Chrome web store, then open a video on Netflix. “Create your party” by clicking on the red “NP” icon adjacent to the toolbar and then click “Start Party” to share the party URL with friends you want to screen-share with. Friends need only click the party URL, and they’re in.

Tubi features thousands of hours of streaming video content from studios like Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM.


Xumo an ad-supported streaming site, available in the contiguous United States, provides free live and on-demand entertainment.


MUSEUMS + ART GALLERY


Enjoy hundreds of museums from around the world Via Google Arts & Culture.


State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia checks out this one-take video journey through the second-largest museum in the world. The museum houses some three million art and culture artifacts, including paintings by 17th-century Dutch artist Rembrandt, such as “The Return of the Prodigal Son.”


Louvre offers three virtual tours including one of the moats that were the original perimeter of the Louvre when it was first built as a fortress by French king Phillippe Auguste.


MUSIC


For the launch of UMF Radio, will broad Sirius XM cast the “Ultra Virtual Audio Festival”, starting this Friday, March 20th at 5 pm ET. The virtual concert will feature Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Martin Garrix, Major Lazer and more.


Garth Brooks has announced will stream a free concert on March 23 at 7:00 PM EST/4:00 PM PST via Facebook.


OPERA


The New York Metropolitan Opera will stream a different encore Live in HD performance every day through Sunday, March 22. Each performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET and remain available for streaming for 20 hours.


The Paris Opera From 17 March, the Paris Opera will be putting its most beautiful shows from its archives online free of charge. From Don Giovanni to Swan Lake and The Tales of Hoffmann.

Hoopla offers patrons a large selection of digital video (movies and TV shows), music, audiobooks, ebooks, and comics.

Cumbe is a home for African and Diaspora dance and music is offering free online classes.

FREE COOKING TUTORIAL CLASSES


Gucci Osteria’s Massimo Bottura is offering free virtual cooking classes at @massimobottura on Instagram.


Milk Street is offering free cooking classes through April 30th. “At the Milk Street Online Cooking School you won’t learn just recipes, you'll learn new ways to approach food and cooking, giving you a reinvigorated enthusiasm for putting dinner on the table.”


Each week, Traeger Kitchen Live goes live with a professional chef or pitmaster to walk viewers through one of their favorite grilling recipes, all while sharing their best tips and tricks and answering questions in real-time. Videos stream Thursdays at 6pm EDT, and previous week’s videos are available 24/7.
